Your Kitten’s First Vet Visit – What to Expect
Bringing your new kitten to the vet for the first time can feel a little daunting, but it’s the start of a lifelong journey in keeping them happy and healthy.
When should you book?
We recommend booking your kitten’s first check-up as soon as possible after bringing them home, ideally within the first week. This helps us spot any early health concerns and begin their vaccination schedule.
What happens during the visit?
At Fab Vets, your kitten’s first appointment will include:
A full physical examination (eyes, ears, teeth, skin, weight and more)
A check for parasites like fleas or worms
A discussion on vaccinations, feeding, litter training and behaviour
Time to ask any questions, big or small!
We’ll also help set up a care plan for their vaccinations, microchipping, and neutering when the time comes.
Your kitten’s comfort is our priority. We’ll take things gently, offer treats and cuddles, and make it a positive experience right from the start.
