When Should I Neuter My Kitten?

Neutering is a routine and safe procedure that comes with long-term benefits for your kitten’s health and behaviour — as well as helping to prevent unwanted litters.

When is the best time?

We usually recommend neutering:

  • Cats from 4 months old, once they’ve had their vaccinations and reached a healthy weight

  • This ensures your kitten is protected before they reach sexual maturity (yes, it can happen earlier than you think!)

Benefits of neutering

  • Prevents unexpected pregnancies

  • Reduces roaming, yowling and spraying

  • Helps reduce the risk of certain cancers and infections

  • Can calm hormone-driven behaviours

  • Supports a longer, healthier life

The procedure is straightforward and recovery is typically quick, especially for young, healthy kittens. We’ll provide full aftercare guidance and are always here if you have questions during recovery.
